Martin D. Snyder

Martin Snyder is a partner in the Litigation Department of Wildman Harrold. Martin’s practice focuses on helping clients win business disputes. He represents multi-national corporations, as well as small and mid-size companies, and individual business people. In court, Martin represents clients in the prosecution and defense of business disputes, class actions, fraud claims, product liability suits, and professional malpractice cases. His practice as a trial lawyer is centered in Chicago but extends to state and federal courts all over the country. Out of court, Martin works with clients as an advocate in resolving their disputes through negotiation, mediation, and arbitration. He also counsels clients on avoiding and limiting their liability in business transactions. Martin has successfully tried numerous cases to verdict in jury and bench trials in state and federal court, has handled a number of successful appeals, and has represented clients in mediations and arbitrations.

Representative Experience:

  • Successfully represents business clients in complex commercial disputes, including breaches of contract, breaches of warranty, consumer fraud, the Uniform Commercial Code, truth-in-lending, fraudulent misrepresentations, interference with contractual relations, breaches of distributor agreements, insurance coverage, wrongful termination of employment, junk faxes, and director liability, among other areas. 
  • Serves as trial counsel to product manufacturers in the defense of product liability claims, including litigation concerning medical devices, asbestos products, electrical products, and automobile tires. 
  • Acts as National or Regional counsel for businesses with litigation pending in state and federal courts across the United States. Coordinates and supervises local attorneys outside of Illinois in the prosecution and defense of those lawsuits.
  • Counsels businesses and individuals in methods of eliminating, shifting, or limiting their liability in contractual relationships with partners, distributors, and customers. 
  • Represents clients in mediations and arbitrations concerning disputes over contracts, distributorship agreements, and tort claims.
  • Serves as an adjunct professor of Trial Advocacy at a local law school, where he shares insights and experience with the next generation of trial lawyers.
