Mark P. Miller

Mark Miller is a partner in the Litigation Department of Wildman Harrold. As national counsel for several clients, Mark understands the perspective and pressures faced by corporate counsel. As a result, Mark focuses on pragmatic business solutions for his clients, whether they are engaged in a commercial dispute, defending the quality and integrity of their products, defending class actions, or concerned about regulatory compliance in the United States or abroad. These solutions, whether on a trial track or not, are tailored for each individual client and for each individual case. An experienced and skilled litigator, trial lawyer and advisor, Mark has a client roster including large national and international companies from a variety of industries as well as several Fortune 200 companies.


Representative Experience:

  • Successfully defended Hyatt International in multinational dispute concerning multimillion dollar commission claim arising out of construction of Park Hyatt in Milan, Italy.
  • Succesfully defended automated parking meter manufacturer in class action arising out of City of Chicago's "pay-to-park" automated parking program.
  • Represents international hair care company in nationwide litigation to terminate distributors who divert the company's products out of their intended distribution and sales channel.
  • Represents ACCO Brands in various commercial litigation and bankruptcy related matters, including $8 million dollar dispute with national customer.
  • Served as general counsel for Interlake Material Handling, prosecuting and defending commercial litigation, and advising on general business issues relating to contracts and relationships with distributors, suppliers, and customers, including antitrust and construction issues; coordinated product liability defense.
  • Advises Fortune Brands’ numerous operating companies on commercial disputes, regulatory compliance, product integrity, trademark infringement, record retention, and warranty issues; areas of regulation include the Consumer Product Safety Act, National Highway Transportation Safety Act, Buy American Act, and Federal Trade Commission.
  • Represents major printing company defending claims of trademark infringement and license breach brought by major software company.
  • Represents major ink and toner retailer in litigation relating to potential investor's exercise of various options relating to the company's ownership.
  • Represents Hyatt International, Inc. in defense of lawsuits brought by victims of a terrorist bombing at the Grand Hyatt in Amman, Jordan.
  • Represents Hubbell Industrial Products in defense of a $52 million property damage product liability claim.
  • Represents Medtronic, Inc. in product liability and related litigation throughout Illinois, including class actions and multidistrict litigation.
  • Represents major gas grill manufacturer in defense of punitive damages claims in lawsuits arising from fires occurring on recalled consumer products.
  • Serves as national products liability counsel for a Fortune 500 manufacturer of heavy equipment, including coordination and streamlining of defense strategy, trial, settlement, and product liability prevention counseling.
