John A. Luburic

John Luburic is a partner in the Litigation Department of Wildman Harrold and leads Wildman Harrold’s associate mentoring program. In his practice, John routinely represents and advises businesses and individuals in litigation matters in a variety of substantive areas, including antitrust law, product liability law, state consumer fraud and deceptive trade practices law, franchise law, securities law and general contract law. John also has experience representing clients in administrative proceedings and corporate investigations, and he has appeared before state and federal courts and arbitration panels.

Representative Experience:

  • Counseled a global health care company on a multitude of commercial litigation and product liability matters involving both pharmaceutical products and medical devices 
  • Represented a pharmaceutical company in individual and class action product liability lawsuits filed nationwide involving diet drugs and hormone replacement therapy 
  • Represented a pharmaceutical company in class action antitrust and consumer fraud lawsuits filed nationwide involving settlements of patent litigation between brand name and generic pharmaceutical manufacturers 
  • Represented Toys “R” Us in a variety of matters, including its successful breach of contract litigation against Amazon.com in Toysrus.com, et al. v. Amazon.com, et al. 
  • Represented one of the nation’s premier chauffeured limousine companies in separate lawsuits to enforce restrictive covenants and protect trade secrets, and in a breach of contract action brought by a former independent contractor 
  • Represented a well-known franchise in litigation against a former franchisee, involving trademark infringement, breach of trade secret and general contract claims 
  • Represented a futures clearing service in litigation brought by a former Manager and Member, involving breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty claims 
  • Defended a pro bono client in criminal trial in Illinois state court against charges of armed robbery and aggravated battery
  • Acted as a Guardian ad Litem in a probate proceeding involving a petition to discharge guardianship 
  • Volunteers regularly for Wildman Harrold’s GO BONO hotline, a partnership with CARPLS, to provide pro bono legal services in landlord-tenant disputes
