Wildman Harrold Joins 10th Anniversary Celebration of the MCCA
Wildman Harrold attorneys Rod Heard, Denise Lazar, Gina Chang, Shandell Massey, Helen Suh, Jay Young, Sandra Pedersen, Carol Lin, David Wheeler, and Keith Horton represented the firm at the Minority Corporate Counsel Association’s Midwest Region 10th Anniversary Dinner on Wednesday, March 21. The Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) was founded in 1997 to advocate for the expanded hiring, retention, and promotion of minority attorneys in corporate law departments and the law firms that serve them. The MCCA accomplishes its mission through the collection and dissemination of information about diversity in the legal profession. This year, the firm served as a “Gold Patron” of the Anniversary Dinner.
Over the last ten years, the MCCA has grown from a small not-for-profit association with just one employee and an external meeting planner to a national organization which features a dinner series celebrating diversity achievements, research projects, a bimonthly magazine, an electronic newsletter, educational conferences, a scholarship program, and networking and skill-building opportunities for in-house and outside counsel.
Included among the more than 500 attendees were Judge Ann Claire Williams (7th Cir.), Judge David Coar (N.D. Ill.), N. Cornell Boggs, III (Chief Legal Officer and Group Vice President for Public Affairs, Coors Brewing Company) and Gary H. Pilnick (Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary, Kellogg Company). Representatives from many of the firm’s clients and friends, including Motorola, DuPont and Microsoft, were also present.
