Thomas E. Hill
Thomas Hill is a partner in the Intellectual Property Department of Wildman Harrold. Tom is involved in the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, appeals, interferences, as well as licensing and litigation. He has extensive experience in patent prosecution and opinion work in the areas of telecommunications, medical devices, computer hardware and software, video display devices, analog and digital electronics, energy devices such as reactors, batteries and solar cells, internet applications and business methods, agricultural devices and systems, building materials and structures, construction equipment, electrical connectors, tools and vehicles, water distribution systems and components and scientific devices. Tom has a technical background in electrical and mechanical engineering, computers, materials, and physics. He began his career with the Computer Sciences Corporation and Naval Air Systems Command in Washington, D.C., where he analyzed and designed military-related communications and aircraft systems, including anti-submarine warfare navigation and detection systems.

- Counseling and litigation involving the procurement, infringement and enforcement and defense of patents
- Preparation and prosecution of U.S. and international patent applications in the electronic, electrical, mechanical and electromechanical arts
- Preparation and prosecution of U.S. trademark and copyright applications for registration
- Counseling in the areas of design-around and avoidance of proprietary and patented designs, apparatus and methods
- Counseling and the preparation of agreements in the areas of technology transfer, patent licenses and joint developments
- Successfully opposed motion for summary judgment for design patent infringement against a major household fan manufacturer and subsequently assisted in successful defense to patent infringement case
- Testified as expert witness in pending case involving patent license agreement for a clamping tool
