Laura E. Hamady

Laura is an associate in the Intellectual Property Department of Wildman Harrold. She has experience advising clients on privacy and consumer protection laws, and e-commerce issues. Prior to joining Wildman Harrold, Laura worked in the pharmaceutical industry as in-house counsel with a focus on marketing and privacy issues. Laura also has extensive experience counseling a large publishing company on a wide range of promotional matters including, sweepstakes, contests, celebrity product endorsements and cause-related marketing.

Representative Experience:

  • Counsels on online and offline advertisement and marketing issues, including web site vetting, e-mail and text message campaigns, sweepstakes, contests and other promotions, and consumer protection issues.
  • Negotiates and drafts advertising, entertainment and technology contracts such as web site development and hosting agreements, advertising agency agreements, and branded entertainment and co-promotion agreements.
  • Counsels on privacy matters, including reviewing and drafting web site privacy policies and terms of use, and advising on privacy and security-related compliance strategies and programs.
  • Counsels clients on marketing and database compliance issues, including compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
