David R. Ginsburg

David Ginsburg is Of Counsel in the Los Angeles office of Wildman Harrold. David is the Executive Director of the UCLA School of Law’s Entertainment and Media Law and Policy Program, where he teaches as a Lecturer in Law. Since 2003, he has rendered expert witness opinions and testimony in several federal and state litigation matters. Prior to becoming a producer and senior production executive in 1986, David practiced law for ten years and was a founding partner of the Entertainment Department at the international law firm of Sidley Austin. He has also served as an appointed Judge Pro-Tem of the Beverly Hills Municipal Court.

In the motion picture industry, David was an independent producer and executive, serving as the President of Artisan Pictures and Executive Vice-President of Artisan Entertainment prior to Artisan’s acquisition by Lionsgate Films. He served as the President of Landscape Entertainment from late 2000 until its merger with Artisan the following year. From 1997 to early 2000, he was the President of the Alliance Atlantis Motion Picture Group. He also co-founded Transatlantic Media Associates Kft., a full-service film production facility in Budapest, Hungary, which from 1989 to 2001 provided crews, locations and other services to many international feature films and television projects.

In television, he served from 1986 to 1997 as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Citadel Entertainment, a company which he co-founded and where he produced over 50 films, and has been nominated personally three times for the Emmy and four times for the Golden Globe. His television production credits include several Emmy-winners, and many of those productions have been nominated for and won numerous other awards (including the Golden Globe for Rasputin in 1997 and the Humanitas Prize for Between Mother and Daughter in 1995).
