Alan L. Friel
Alan Friel is a partner in the Intellectual Property Department of Wildman Harrold. He counsels his clients on contractual transactions, intellectual property, regulatory compliance, financing, licensing, distribution, acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic alliances. His clients span a number of industries, including advertising and promotions, film, television, animation, music, publishing, technology, interactive games, software, Internet and eCommerce, manufacturing, telecommunications, apparel and consumer products. Alan is a member of the entertainment, intellectual property, technology and advertising sections of several bar associations and is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell. He is also active in philanthropic activities, serving or having served as outside general counsel or on the board of several charitable institutions and trade associations.
Representative Experience:
- Counsels on new media, e-commerce and privacy transactions
- Extensive experience in matters relating to live action and animation television and theatrical motion picture development, production and distribution
- Negotiates branded entertainment and product placement and integration agreements
- Represents clients regarding (online and offline) advertising, marketing, sponsorship and promotions
- Drafts and negotiates licensing agreements and other intellectual property transactions
- Counsels clients in connection with interactive game and software development and publishing
