Representative Experience:

  • Clients have included health care providers, as well as healthcare associations, accrediting agencies, certifying boards, and other entities. Among his litigated matters was one of the first reported appellate decisions to construe the federal Medicare/Medicaid anti-kickback statute.
  • Litigation experience includes participation in numerous trials and other court proceedings and over 1,500 depositions in more than 30 states. Mr. Carlson has submitted briefs in seven of the 13 U.S. Courts of Appeals, and has argued before the Third, Sixth, Seventh, and Ninth Circuits, as well as before state appellate courts in Illinois and New York.
