You'll find that you're never alone
at Wildman Harrold (because, quite
frankly, we're afraid you'll steal
stuff). We know it's not always
easy to juggle your assignments,
attend the training and social events,
get to know your co-workers, and
still have a life. The summer experience
can be both rewarding and somewhat
overwhelming. Although we think
we are all approachable, we have
picked a few people you can always
turn to with questions or if you
need help with any issue over the
summer.
Big Siblings
In addition to the co-chairs of
the summer program and our lovable
hiring partner, John Frey, who are
always available to help, you will
be assigned two "big siblings."
(We abandoned our "distant second
cousin" program.) These big siblings
will be responsible for teasing
you mercilessly and holding you
down to give you noogies once a
week. They will also help you get
to know people at the firm and navigate
your way through the summer by taking
you to lunch, helping you with fashion
decisions, and generally being your
personal resource for all things
related to your summer experience.
Writing Coach
You will also be assigned a writing
coach. This coach, a partner at
the firm, will stand behind you
dressed in a warm up suit yelling
motivational phrases such as, "Type
like the wind, Wise One" and will
spot you while you type difficult,
challenging and even dangerous phrases.
If this approach does not help your
writing - and it may not - your
writing coach will review and comment
on all or some of your assignments
after you finish a first draft.
(We strongly encourage and recommend,
but do not require, that you have
your coach review at least your
first few assignments.)
Beyond the chairs of the summer
program, the hiring partner, your
"big siblings," and your writing
coach, you are pretty much on your
own, unless you count the rest of
your summer class and the hundreds
of other people who work here. Be
advised that we have cancelled the
personal valet service that was
so popular last year due to a dispute
with the valet union.
