Research for real life
Immediately after our summer associates
arrive, an associate representative
from each of the firm's practice
groups gives an informal seminar
over lunch on research techniques
specific to their practice group.
Topics covered include how to get
started on an assignment, where
to find information, what to cover,
what not to forget, communicating
with the assigning attorney, following
up, etc. Associates share information
on what resources are most helpful
for their practice groups. Outlines
are provided for reference throughout
the summer.
Negotiation skills
We offer a negotiation skills seminar
each summer taught by Lynn Cohn.
Lynn, a professor of negotiations
at Northwestern University School
of Law, is one of the top ranked
negotiation programs in the country.
She is a licensed mediator and conducts
negotiation consulting and mediations
on a national and international
basis. Lynn's workshop for our summer
associates includes instruction,
mock negotiations, and a question
and answer period. We end the day
with Wildman Harrold partners performing
a mock negotiation using the same
contract negotiation problem the
summer associates worked on earlier
in the day.
