Health Insurance
Employees may choose from three health plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois that include Dental Insurance. You have a choice of using a network dentist or your own dentist. This plan also includes full Vision Coverage, offered by VSP. Coverage includes employee, employee plus spouse or domestic partner, employee plus child(ren) or employee plus family.
Life Insurance
The firm provides a $100,000 Life Insurance policy and a $100,000 Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D) policy at no cost to the employee. Additional life insurance for employee, spouse/domestic partner and/or dependents is available.
All insurance becomes effective the first day of the following month after hire date.
Short Term Disability
is a benefit of Wildman Harrold. You are eligible for STD after one year of service. The firm pays 100% of your salary for the first 90 days of medical leave.
Maternity Leave
This benefit allows an associate who gives birth to a child to remain on paid leave for an additional period of time following the end of the disability, up to a maximum of 12 weeks. Eligibility after one year of service.
Parental Leave
Wildman Harrold recognizes that employees who become parents through birth or adoption may have special needs, and the firm is committed to assisting new parents who request time off to attend to family matters. Parental Leave is designed to accommodate parenting needs for eligible male and female employees. An associate may receive pay for a portion of or all of the Parental Leave.
Extended Parental Leave
The firm offers up to 8 weeks of Extended Parental Leave (EPL) to attorneys in connection with the birth of a child, their adoption of a child or the foster care placement of a child with them. EPL is in addition to and begins after the exhaustion of an employee's Parental Leave. Up to three weeks of EPL may be paid leave.
Long Term Disability
is an optional benefit. Premiums are paid 100% by the employee. The premium is deducted after-tax so that the benefit is tax-free. Upon approval, LTD pays 60% of your salary after the 90-day elimination period. There is also an option to enroll in supplemental disability insurance through MetLife. This supplemental insurance will provide an additional $7,500 per month or an additional 15% of coverage, whichever is less.
Pre-Tax Savings Programs
The Firm offers pre-tax parking, transit, health care and dependent care reimbursement accounts. These programs allow the employee to pay for out-of-pocket parking, transit, health care and daycare costs with pre-tax dollars by way of payroll deduction. The employee reduces his/her income taxes by using pre-tax dollars to purchase these services.
Back Up Child Care
Wildman Harrold understands the challenges of balancing family and work responsibilities. Therefore, we provide access to corporate sponsored backup child care centers operated by Bright Horizons.
Business Travel Accident Insurance
is provided at no cost to the Associate. The benefit is two times the salary, up to $250,000.
Retirement Plan
Associates become eligible to participate in either the firm's 401(k) or Roth 401(k) Plans, both administered by Fidelity Investments, immediately upon hire.
Employee Assistance Program
Wildman Harrold recognizes that its most valuable asset is its employees. Because everyone is subject to stress both on and off the job, the EAP was developed to provide helpful information and confidential and professional assistance, whether the problem is personal or work related. It is also a great information resource! The EAP is offered at no cost to all employees. It is completely voluntary and confidential.
Moving Reimbursement
The firm reimburses up to $1,500 for out-of-state moving costs.
Bar Registration (In-State)
The firm reimburses associates for annual bar registration dues.
Bar Registration (Out-of-State)
Upon approval of the Practice Group Leader and the Professional Development and Diversity Director, the firm will reimburse associates for bar registration dues in another state.
Bar Association Dues (up to 3)
The firm will reimburse associates for up to three memberships in the bar association(s) of your choice (i.e., ABA, CBA, etc.).
Bar Exam Fees
The firm covers the cost of the BAR/BRI review course and the Illinois Bar examination for lateral and new associates. During the BAR/BRI review course, lateral associates work at the firm one-half days while attending classes. Once the review is finished, two weeks paid time off may be taken, if needed, to study for the bar exam.
Tuition
Upon approval of the Practice Group Leader and the Professional Development and Diversity Director, the firm will reimburse associates for up to 50% of LL.M. tuition.
Time Off
Associates do not have a set amount of annual vacation days or paid time off. Associates are expected to manage their work and time off in a manner that is consistent with the needs and expectations of the firm and its clients.
Seminars
Upon approval of the Practice Group Leader and the Professional Development and Diversity Director, the firm will reimburse outside seminar expenses in full. The firm's Professional Development staff will assist you with the state's Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) requirements. We offer in-house courses and we track both in-house and outside credits earned.
Lateral Associate Referral
Associates receive $10,000 for referring a full-time associate to the firm and $5,000 for referring a part-time associate to the firm (less applicable deductions).
Evening & Weekend Reimbursement
When an associate bills 9½ hours or more during a normal workday, or 4 hours or more on a Saturday, Sunday or Holiday, that associate is entitled to reimbursement of reasonable expenses. The firm provides catered Dinner Service (Monday-Thursday) for those who are working late. Reasonable expenses include evening, weekend or holiday meals, night taxi charges, parking and similar items.
Casual Dress
Wildman Harrold has adopted optional casual dress for the office. While all business days are casual dress days, everyone is expected to present themselves in appropriate attire to meet their responsibilities for the day. It is expected that attorneys will have a change of professional business clothing in their offices appropriate for emergency court hearings and/or client meetings.
