Litigation

Wildman Harrold has one of the premier litigation practices in the country, recognized by Corporate Counsel magazine as a “Go-To” Law Firm for litigation. Our Litigation Practice currently comprises over 100 attorneys experienced in high-stakes matters for our clients. Members of our Litigation Practice are highly skilled in antitrust, commercial, intellectual property, health care, complex product liability, environmental, and toxic tort lawsuits.

In the last four years, the firm has represented clients in the federal and state courts in 46 of 50 states, all but one U.S. territory, and several foreign countries. Our litigators are admitted in all of the federal appeal circuits and a large number of the district courts. We are particularly adept at MDL suits and the defense of class actions.

Our experience and credibility as courtroom advocates provide our clients with significant advantages in the high-stakes contests that are posed by litigation today. The ability to conceive the way in which a trial, hearing, or arbitration will unfold is an essential component in any intelligent process by which litigation and settlement assessments, tactics, and strategy are formulated.

Our senior partners are working lawyers who actively manage and participate in major litigation matters. In most cases, a client team is assigned that is led by the client’s Relationship Partner, with a cross-functional team of attorneys that have specific substantive experience relevant to the issues involved. Partners are supported by associates and paralegals who are members of the client team.

Wildman Harrold believes its principal goal is to protect our clients’ business interests and drive problems to successful resolution. Some of the litigation matters we have recently handled include:

  • Successful representation in a billion-dollar contract dispute between two prominent e-commerce retailers; securing a full victory for our client
  • Successful representation of the firearms industry from lawsuits brought by municipalities across the country in which we set the industry-wide strategy and represented the market leader
  • Chaired the joint defense of leading insurance companies against class action antitrust lawsuits—the cases, spanning five jurisdictions, both federal and state, were all defeated
  • Successful representation of the alcohol beverage industry in obtaining complete dismissals of class actions alleging consumer fraud and other torts in federal and state courts across the country
  • Successful representation of the treated wood industry through summary judgment motions, defeat of class certification, and favorable jury verdicts
  • Successful defense of chemical companies by defeating class actions and trying individual toxic tort, environmental, and personal injury claims to jury defense verdicts
